clovis on the net?!
what this site is:
- a manifestation of my frustration with traditional social medias
- my attempt to carve out a personal space on the internet
- a creative pursuit
- a living catalogue and archive
- a source of joy!
i began working on this site in 2024, amidst the great AO3 hacking scare, in an attempt to preserve my fanworks. it remained a plain, simple html directory for about a year (i.e. largely forgotten about). i rediscovered my neocities account in early 2025. having been flooded with "small web"/"indie web"/whatever video essays on youtube, i decided to try my hand at designing a little corner of the internet.
this site is my first real foray into coding and webdesign, and i'm learning as i go. i code using a combination of Visual Studio Code for drafting and Webmaker for testing/tweaking. guides such as w3 schools and forums like stack overflow have been invaluable resources to me. the design of this website is heavily based on sadgrls layout builder.
clovis is both in the name of this site and my online psudonymn. it is a reference to the Clovis culture (13,050–12,750BP), widely recognised as one of the earliest material cultures in the Americas.
there's currently not all that much to explore here, but i hope you stick around to watch!
